South West Four 2013 – Preview

Fresh out of secondary school; my brother takes me to my first festival. SW4 on, Clapham Common towards the end of the summer. Without doubt the best weekend of my summer; I hadn’t been to many gigs, let alone festivals. My memories of the day were seeing Laidback Luke for the first time, the first time I had heard his version of ‘Heartbreaker’, Sasha’s progressive set (I remember a rainbow forming over the stage) and of course Armin Van Buuren’s finale.

Here we are, three years later and South West Four is celebrating its 10th anniversary! We’re looking forward to the festival line-up announcements and I see a lot of the same acts as I did back then as well as lot more!

The Saturday (24th) sees Armin Van Buuren headlining once again with support from Laidback Luke. A winning combination by anyone’s standard. The legendary Carl Cox also appears on the lineup again in a back-to-back set with Loco Dice well as Paul Oakenfold.

Deciding which day to attend may be a difficult task, with UKF hosting the main stage on the Sunday (25th) you can expect a lively crowd with performers like Example, Andy C and Knife Party. Some other acts for the Sunday include Pete Tong, Bondax and Dismantle – to name just a few. Eric Prydz is also on the lineup, it’s his only UK appearance this summer so if you’re a fan you have to get down for this one!

SW4 covers all areas of dance music there will always be a little something for everyone. From drum and bass to electro house, there’s a plethora of world class performers for you to choose from, whether it be on the main stage or one of the renowned dance tents. You won’t be disappointed.

Clapham Common is in a perfect location for a festival. An easily accessible postcode in one of the nicest parts of London, the website also helps with accommodation for people outside of London. If the current weather holds up I can confidently say this will be one of the best weekends of your summer.

We’ll be there to cover the Saturday, see you there!
