Preview: Mac DeMarco

For someone routinely described as a slacker, Mac DeMarco sure gets things done. This year alone he’s released new album This Old Dog, headlined End of the Road festival and played two completely sold out shows at O2 Academy Brixton. Now he’s back again for a November tour which stretches from Dublin to Brighton, and a fair few places in between.

Glowing reviews for his new album, coupled with an inimitable sound and a stellar back catalogue mean that Mac’s live show isn’t something to be missed. And that’s even without his on-stage antics that are almost more famous than his music. Brixton saw him crowdsurfing to the bar and back again, whilst a small show at Nambucca featured an impromptu audience poll of which Beatles member was the most gifted in the trouser department. FYI, George Harrison came out on top.

So to recap: Great music, crowdsurfing, and surreal audience interaction. What else could you possibly want?
