Looking ahead to another great weekend on Clapham Common

For some reason, city based festivals never attract the same amount of hype as their rural counterparts. Festival goers are looking further and further afield for their amusement, with Outlook and Benicassim featuring just as frequently on the tongues of British music fans as Glastonbury and Bestival. It’s rare that a local, city based festival will garner as much hype, but London’s South West Four is the exception to the rule.

Based on London’s famous Clapham common, South West Four perfectly encapsulates London’s vibrant electronic music scene and party atmosphere. This is aided by the after parties that last well into the early hours of the morning. Besides Berlin, London is perhaps the world’s electronic music capital, so where better to host an EDM festival than right here?

This year (August 23rd and 24th), the likes of Gorgon City, Deadmau5 and Fedde Le Grand will be gracing Clapham Common. Not to forget Saturday headliners Above & Beyond, who released their latest album, Acoustic, earlier this year.

Last year we attended day two of SW4’s tenth anniversary and – with impressive sets from Friction, Example and RL Grime – it certainly lived up to all the hype. The big names on the main stage didn’t take away any energy or attention from the other stages, as John Digweed and Flosstradamus blew away the crowds with their sets in the Bedrock and Together arenas respectively.

Day tickets and VIP day tickets are still available, so get yours here as they’re rapidly selling out. Picking which day to attend may be a difficult task, considering day one consists of Alesso, Sacha and more talented acts – including headliners Above & Beyond. But day two consists of equally exciting DJs in the form of Skream and Eats Everything – as well as the main feat, Deadmau5. We recommend you attend both days, just to be sure you don’t miss anything.

South West Four 2014 is a matter of weeks away. Are you ready?
